Social Metrics

Social metrics like subscibers count and user activity is a strong indicator of a good cryptocurrency with strong community support. Here are some of the ones supported by alphalerts:

• FACEBOOK_LIKES is the number of likes that the official cryptocurrency page received on Facebook.

• TWITTER_FOLLOWERS is the number of followers that the official cryptocurrency page has on Twitter.

• REDDIT_AVERAGE_POSTS_48H is the total number of Reddit posts that were created in the last 48 hours about a certain cryptocurrency.

• REDDIT_AVERAGE_COMMENTS_48H is the total number of Reddit comments that were created in the last 48 hours about a certain cryptocurrency.

• REDDIT_SUBSCRIBERS is the total number of Reddit followers that a subreddit about a cryptocurrency has.

• REDDIT_ACCOUNTS_ACTIVE_48H is the total number of active accounts who are discussing a certain cryptocurrency on Reddit.

• TELEGRAM_CHANNEL_USER_COUNT is the number of users in the official Telegram channel for a certain cryptocurrency.

These KPIs help in filtering for cryptocurrencies that have a strong community. For instance, one could find a cryptocurrency that is a rather new project with a large following, but with a low market cap due being new. This would indicate an undervalued cryptocurrency that could grow significantly in the near future.

Unfortunately, not every cryptocurrency has these KPIs, since not every cryptocurrency has social media. Sometimes, the subreddits are empty, and thus no KPIs are recorded.
